<li>“Students will apply threshold concepts in the field of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies (i.e. social construction of gender, sex, and sexuality…)</li>
<li>Students will analyze performance as critical intervention</li>
<li>Students will engage queer theories in relation to performance practice</li>
<li>Students will develop a drag queen persona and create a vital drag performance that demonstrates their understanding of drag as critical performance practice”</li>
</ol>
According to the syllabus, the lowest grade a student can receive in this class is a “B.” The <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12227377/Texas-Christian-University-offer-Queer-Art-Drag-new-course-spring.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> highlighted that students who want an “A” grade “must also participate in a live group number as part of the Spectrum Drag Show.”

In October 2023, Testa helped organize a petition drive at TCU. <a href="https://tcu360.com/2023/10/13/over-200-signatures-sign-faculty-petition-in-support-of-lgbtq-campus-community/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TCU 360 published an article</a> explaining, “Dr. Testa and the faculty felt that a petition was necessary because of the long history of discrimination against LGBTQ faculty and students on campus.” Testa is quoted stating:
“‘This has been a very challenging year for LGBGTQ people on campus and in Texas. This petition is a way to tell LGBTQ students, in particular, that faculty see you and are trying to make this campus one that is worthy of your presence here.’”
TCU 360 also listed historical events where “the LGBTQ community was silenced.” The list includes denying the title change of “Women &amp; Gender Studies” to “Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies” in 2014 and canceling a Drag Queen Story Hour event in 2019.

According to the syllabus, the lowest grade a student can receive in this class is a “B.” The <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12227377/Texas-Christian-University-offer-Queer-Art-Drag-new-course-spring.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> highlighted that students who want an “A” grade “must also participate in a live group number as part of the Spectrum Drag Show.”

In October 2023, Testa helped organize a petition drive at TCU. <a href="https://tcu360.com/2023/10/13/over-200-signatures-sign-faculty-petition-in-support-of-lgbtq-campus-community/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TCU 360 published an article</a> explaining, “Dr. Testa and the faculty felt that a petition was necessary because of the long history of discrimination against LGBTQ faculty and students on campus.” Testa is quoted stating:
“‘This has been a very challenging year for LGBGTQ people on campus and in Texas. This petition is a way to tell LGBTQ students, in particular, that faculty see you and are trying to make this campus one that is worthy of your presence here.’”
TCU 360 also listed historical events where “the LGBTQ community was silenced.” The list includes denying the title change of “Women &amp; Gender Studies” to “Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies” in 2014 and canceling a Drag Queen Story Hour event in 2019.
