The University at Albany receives a “D” grade for In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants. According to the university&#8217;s Undocumented Students FAQ page, when asked &#8220;Do I qualify for the resident tuition rate?,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.suny.edu/attend/get-started/undocumented/faq/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university</a> responds, &#8220;You may be eligible for the resident tuition rate if you meet the following requirements:

<li>You attended an approved New York State high school for two or more years, graduated from an approved New York State high school and applied for admission within five years of receiving a New York State high school diploma; or</li>
<li>You attended an approved New York State program for a General Equivalency Diploma (GED or TASC) exam preparation, received a GED or TASC diploma and applied for admission within five years of receiving the GED or TASC; and</li>
<li>You submit to the campus a notarized affidavit stating that you will file an application to legalize your immigration status as soon as you are eligible to do so.&#8221;</li>

The <a href="https://www.albany.edu/generaleducation/information-literacy.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university</a> says, &#8220;All students matriculating Fall 2023 will be required to fulfill a requirement for Diversity: Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice. This requirement is in lieu of the UAlbany category for Challenges for the 21st Century.&#8221; The learning objectives for this requirement say students will:

The University at Albany receives a “B+” grade for Protests and Canceling Speakers. Since 2021, the university had one incident. In April 2023, <a href="https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/ualbany-students-shut-turning-point-usa-ian-17882744.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protestors</a> nearly shut down an event featuring Daily Wire Commentator Ian Haworth. Protestors shouted &#8220;F*** you, TPUSA&#8221; and &#8220;Ian sucks,&#8221; among other insults. Attendees had to be moved to a separate room for the event to continue. Two arrests were made.
