He considers himself to be a scholar of religions and has penned many books, including a New York Times bestseller titled, <a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/201653/zealot-by-reza-aslan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth</a>. When he isn’t teaching or writing publications, he often takes to social media to express his strong dislike of conservatives.

In early 2019, <a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/jan/13/reza-aslan-likely-be-sued-over-now-deleted-punchab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Aslan made headlines</a> for threatening a conservative boy from Covington Catholic High School. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Dr. Aslan asked his 286,300 followers if they’ve ever seen a “more punchable” face than Nick Sandmann’s face. Sandmann and other boys from Covington Catholic High School were wrongly accused of harassing indigenous people at the Lincoln Memorial in 2019. The boys ultimately filed a lawsuit against Dr. Aslan for false and defamatory accusations.

He considers himself to be a scholar of religions and has penned many books, including a New York Times bestseller titled, <a href="https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/201653/zealot-by-reza-aslan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth</a>. When he isn’t teaching or writing publications, he often takes to social media to express his strong dislike of conservatives.

Sandmann and other boys from Covington Catholic High School were wrongly accused of harassing indigenous people at the Lincoln Memorial in 2019. The boys ultimately filed a lawsuit against Dr. Aslan for false and defamatory accusations.
