The University of Central Florida receives a &#8220;D&#8221; grade for In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants. The university <a href="https://www.ucf.edu/admissions/undergraduate/question/can-i-qualify-for-in-state-tuition-if-i-have-daca/">allows</a> undocumented students with or without DACA to be eligible for in-state tuition if &#8220;they meet the requirements stated in Florida Statute F.S. 1009.26.&#8221; The requirements are listed below.

2. Apply for enrollment in an institution of higher education within 24 months after high school graduation;

In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants

The University of Central Florida receives a “B” grade for the Amount of Foreign Funding Received. According to <a href="https://sites.ed.gov/foreigngifts/">College Foreign Gift Reporting</a>, the total amount of foreign funding the university has received is $957.21 per current undergraduate student. Oftentimes, foreign parties will convey their influence by funding certain courses, activities, professors, and organizations on campus. In certain cases, universities must abide by restrictions dictated by foreign parties to receive funding. In addition, there have been <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/top-universities-took-billions-in-unreported-foreign-funds-u-s-finds-11603226953">reports</a> that claim that universities underreport foreign funding. The University of Central Florida receives a “C” grade for Mask and Vaccine Mandates. According to the <a href="https://www.ucf.edu/coronavirus/question/do-i-have-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccine/">university’s</a> UCF Coronavirus Information page, &#8220;There is no mandate to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and UCF is not collecting any proof of vaccination status. However, all eligible individuals are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as they are able.&#8221; The university also encourages masking, however, this also is not mandated.

According to the <a href="https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018">Federal Bureau of Investigation</a>, the Orlando, Florida violent crime rate was 796.01 per 100,000 people in 2018, higher than the 2018 national average of 380.56 per 100,000 people. While campus safety is of utmost importance, it is also pertinent to consider the crime rates of the surrounding town or city as students often tend to venture off campus, especially after their freshman year.

<a href="https://ccie.ucf.edu/person/yara-asi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yara Asi</a> is an Assistant Professor in the School of Global Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida. Asi also works as a <a href="https://fxb.harvard.edu/leadership-faculty-staff-fellows/yara-m-asi-phd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Visiting Scientist</a> at Harvard University’s FXB Center for Health and Human Rights.
Asi’s research project, “<a href="https://www.prio.org/news/2748" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Legacy of Racial Violence</a>,” will be funded from December 2021 to December 2025. The description says: 
“The [project] seeks to address gaps in our understanding of how past racial violence affects contemporary communities, using the US as a critical research case process by which communities address those aftereffects through restorative acts … [T]he project examines why and how type, severity, scope, and relative amount of racial violence affects economic, political, and health inequalities between, as well as within, [b]lack and white communities in the United States.”
Asi is also outspoken against Israel’s response to the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks. She blames the Israeli government for all the hardship experienced by Palestinians in the aftermath of the war.

<a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/as-flow-of-aid-to-gaza-drys-up-un-blames-breakdown-of-law-and-order/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Times of Israel</a> also said, “Inside Gaza, desperate residents have halted convoys to seize aid from trucks as footage has shown gunmen, believed to [be] members of Hamas, steal trucks delivering humanitarian aid from Egypt. Israel has also long said that Hamas stockpiled supplies and kept them from increasingly desperate civilians.”
