Dr. Karyn Sporer is an <a href="https://umaine.edu/sociology/karyn-sporer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Sociology</a> at the University of Maine. She specializes in Criminology and Extremism. She also works for the Department of Homeland Security’s National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology, and Education Center. A major focus of Dr. Sporer’s research is the conservative-right and what she considers “far-right extremism.”

Dr. Sporer alleges that she considers anti-vaccine mandates and anti-mask protests to be right-wing extremist behavior.
