Wagner College receives a “C” grade for Required Equity, Diversity, or Inclusion Courses for Students. The <a href="https://wagner.edu/academics/undergraduate/general-education/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university</a> requires students to complete courses from the following categories:

</ul>
The university also requires that students complete one course in American Diversity and one course in International Perspectives.
The university says, &#8220;A course in American Diversity (marked by a &#8216;D&#8217;) develops your capacity to reflect on your own identity, as influenced by your cultural, racial, ethnic, and other significant differences. You&#8217;ll also explore the diverse peoples of American society, reflecting on their values, institutional obstacles, and contributions to the American experience.&#8221;
Although students can take <a href="https://my.wagner.edu/ICS/Registrar/Course_schedules.jnz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">courses</a> such as &#8220;Human Sexuality&#8221; and &#8220;Workforce Diversity in Organizations&#8221; to fulfill the American Diversity requirement, these courses can be bypassed in favor of options such as &#8220;Elementary American Sign Language 1&#8221; and &#8220;Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking.&#8221;
Examples of courses in the required Social Sciences category include, but are not limited to:

According to the <a href="https://wagner.edu/covid19/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university’s</a> COVID-19 page, &#8220;Effective June 1, 2023, Wagner College will no longer require proof of Covid-19 vaccination for students, employees, or visitors. This change in policy follows decisions by the federal government and the State of New York to life the Covid-19 state of emergency, the recommendations of the American College Health Association, and the actions by peer institutions throughout New York City and nationwide. The College continues to recommend that campus community members maintain up-to-date Covid-19 vaccination.&#8221;

According to the <a href="https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Federal Bureau of Investigation</a>, the New York, New York violent crime rate was 541.03 per 100,000 people in 2018, higher than the 2018 national average of 380.56 per 100,000 people. While campus safety is of utmost importance, it is also pertinent to consider the crime rates of the surrounding town or city as students often tend to venture off campus, especially after their freshman year.

Crime Rates in University City or Town

Wagner College receives a “C” grade for Required Western Civilization Courses for Students. While the <a href="https://wagner.edu/academics/undergraduate/general-education/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university</a> does not require any Western Civilization courses, it does require students to complete one History course of their choosing. Students may opt to complete a Western Civilization History course or they can choose another course unrelated to Western Civilization.
