Youngstown State University is a public university in Youngstown, Ohio. Originating from a local YMCA that offered several law classes, now over 11,000 graduate and undergraduate students are enrolled across more than 110 academic degrees and programs.

In 2017, a petition was circulated by an LGBTQ group to <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=9462" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ban Chick-fil-A on campus</a>. The organizers claimed the restaurant is “notoriously anti-LGBT” and adds to the “negative experiences” LGBT students feel on campus.
